A heavyweight clash between Justin Tafa and Jhonata Diniz will happen during UFC’s annual International Fight Week card on June 28, MMA Fighting has confirmed following a report from Laerte Viana.
UFC 317 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and air live on pay-per-view, and the promotion has yet to announce which bout will be the main event.
Tafa (7-5, 1 no-contest) is looking to bounce back from defeats to Karl Williams and Tallison Teixeira, which dropped his UFC record to 4-5 with one no-contest. The brother of Junior Tafa defeated three men in a row with first-round knockouts prior to his current skid.
Diniz (8-1) won a decision over Williams and finished Austen Lane in the UFC before stepping in on short notice to lose via doctor stoppage to Marcin Tybura this past November. He was scheduled to take on Vitor Petrino in March, but the fellow Brazilian withdrew due to injury.
