Former collegiate wrestling icon Kyle Snyder, who won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, was arrested during a prostitution sting by Columbus Division of Police last weekend in Ohio. Snyder is accused of paying an undercover officer for oral sex, according to a report from 10 WBNS, and will return to court on May 19.
Snyder previously set his sights on UFC superstardom during his incredible run back in 2016 and later offered to train “Notorious” lightweight, Conor McGregor, for his Khabib Nurmagomedov headliner at UFC 229 in late 2018.
Ultimately, Snyder opted to remain in wrestling and closed the book on his cage fighting pursuits.
The 29 year-old Snyder was active as recently as last February as part of the 2025 Muhamet Malo Tournament in Albania. Snyder improved his amateur wrestling record to an astounding 199-21 with a technical fall over Georgia’s Dato Piruzashvili. No word yet on when (or if) the former Buckeye will make his return to the mats later this year.
