Devin Haney will try to hand Ryan Garcia his second career loss. It was for Haney’s WBC super lightweight title, but Garcia missed weight by three pounds Friday and is ineligible to win the belt.

Charles Conwell vs. Nathaniel Gallimore
Round 1: Conwell and Gallimore circling, both firing probing jabs. There’s a good body shot for Conwell. Gallimore triples up on a jab. Left hook from Gallimore, Conwell goes back to the body. Fighters are loosening up. Gallimore blocks an uppercut. Glancing right by Conwell. Gallimore working his jab. Conwell closes the distance, he catches Gallimore with a 1-2 as he circles off the ropes. More body work from Conwell to close out the round.

Round 2: Conwell takes center early, Gallimore looking to counter. He can’t stop Conwell from pushing him to the ropes again. Conwell staying low and tight, not giving Gallimore a lot of angles to work with. A right down the middle connects for Conwell. He scores with an uppercut. Left hook to the body by Conwell. Gallimore just not showing much in this round. Heavy hands from Gallimore, who is focusing on defense. Jab from Gallimore is met by a stiff Conwell combination.

Round 3: Gallimore connects with a left hook, but Conwell is just smothering him now. A big uppercut gets through for Conwell. He’s just winding up and firing power punches. A couple of Conwell uppercuts get through and Gallimore is wearing this damage. Conwell rips the body and then lands another uppercut. Gallimore trying to score from distance, but he can’t keep Conwell out. Jabs from Gallimore close out the round.

Round 4: Gallimore not backing down this round after getting a quick check from the ringside physician. He’s advancing with his jab. Once Conwell starts throwing back though, Gallimore is on the back foot. Gallimore goes to the body. They trade uppercuts. Conwell pacing himself more here, making Gallimore miss. Conwell pokes the body. Straight right pauses Gallimore. He’s turning it up again. Another uppercut by Conwell. Gallimore scoring with long punches, but can’t follow up.

Round 5: Conwell walking Gallimore down. Gallimore mixing it up nicely here as Conwell searches for openings to land his power punches. Conwell scores with a left. Gallimore eating punches as he retreats from Conwell. Referee taking a close look as Conwell flurries, but Gallimore moving enough to keep this one from being stopped. he’s looking sloppy though. No offense from Gallimore right now. Gallimore clinches as the referee leans in for a closer look. There’s the bell and we’re headed to the sixth.

Round 6: Conwell smells blood. There’s not a lot on Gallimore’s punches and Conwell meets him with damaging shots. The referee wanted to give Gallimore a chance, but he’s seen enough. There’s the stoppage. Referee heard telling Gallimore’s corner that their fighter was just taking too many head shots. Fair call.

John Ramirez vs. David Jimenez
Round 1: Left hook by Jimenez and it looks like a slip by Ramirez. The action quickly settles down, with Jimenez circling wide before meeting Ramirez back in the center of the ring. Ramirez flicking out a speedy jab. Ramirez advances, but Jimenez staying evasive. Quick right from Jimenez. Ramirez winning the jab game so far.

Round 2: These fighters are keeping the action close, lots of dirty boxing to start Round 2. Jimenez searching for an uppercut, but Ramirez is backing him off with tight body punches. There’s the uppercut for Jimenez. He’s letting his hands go, forcing Ramirez into a dog fight. Jimenez doubles up on the jab, there’s another short uppercut. Ramirez answers with a crisp jab. Jimenez goes to the body, Ramirez answers with body shots of his own. Jimenez with a step-in right to close the round.

Round 3: Ramirez with body shots, but he can’t keep Jimenez off of him. Big left hook by Jimenez. Ramirez jabs as Jimenez throws wide. Ramirez controlling the distance with his left hand. Jimenez left to the body, then a left uppercut. Ramirez fires short punches. Another good body shot by Jimenez. Ramirez batters a lunging Jimenez with a pair of quick hooks. Straight right for Ramirez.

Round 4: Jimenez just absorbing Ramirez’s jab to close the distance. Quick right from Ramirez scores. Jimenez to the body. Three-punch combo for Jimenez as he marches forward, he wants to keep this dirty. Ramirez steps right into a left hand that connects. Counter left by Ramirez, Jimenez keeps putting on the pressure. Jimenez jabs and eats another left hand.

Round 6: Ramirez pushes Jimenez to the ropes this time, they’re just trading punches inside. Jimenez with the double jab, Ramirez goes back at him with an uppercut. Rapid-fire punches from Ramirez as Jimenez leans on him. Ramirez connects, not fooled by Jimenez’s head movement. They trade power punches. Jimenez keeping up high output, though Ramirez is blocking or deflecting a lot of these strikes. Right hand by Ramirez scores, but Jimenez is staying on him.

Round 9: Ramirez having difficulty stopping Jimenez from dictating where this fight takes place. Jimenez happy to absorb the occasional shot to land three of his own. If Ramirez is the better boxer, he’s not getting the chance to show it. Jimenez just relentless firing to the body to open up Ramirez’s defenses. We’ll see if Ramirez’s team feels he has to make any adjustments in the final three rounds.

Jimenez again looking to finish the round strong, Ramirez answering back this time. He’s back on the board.

Round 11: Jimenez leading with his jab now, though he might not want to play the distance game with Ramirez. Now it’s Ramirez pressuring Jimenez. Ramirez scores inside and pops out. Left hand from Jimenez lands. Ramirez doing a lot of grabbing, but the output has dipped. Jimenez corners Ramirez and starts throwing, Ramirez defending. He catches Ramirez with a clean left hand. Good look for Jimenez in those last 30 seconds.

Round 12: Jimenez right back on the offensive. Ramirez and Jimenez fighting in the center now and Ramirez looks a step slow. More body shots and uppercuts from Jimenez, some blocked, some getting through. Another uppercut moves Ramirez’s head back. They’re trading, but Ramirez can’t keep up. Jimenez fighting like the one who needs a finish. Ramirez staying focused, he hits a couple of good punches down the middle. But he needs a big moment and time is short. They clash one last time as the final bell rings.

Round 1: Melikuziev lands a straight right, the first good shot of the fight after about a minute of action. That wakes Dimbombe up and he throws a trio of punches. Jab from Melikuziev catches an off-balance Dibombe. Right hand from Melikuziev as Dimbombe tries to circle off the ropes. Dibombe staying patient as Melikuziev advances. We’ve got a cut on over Dibombe’s right eye, could have been from an earlier clash of heads.

Round 2: Dibombe scores with a right. He lands another one as Melikuziev overextends on a left hook. Left to the body again has Dibombe off-balance. This southpaw-orthodox matchup creating some awkward moments. Dibombe gets another right hand to connect off of a nice flurry. Melikuziev having trouble seeing that right. Pause in the action to check Dibombe’s cut, but they continue. Dibombe punches around a clinch attempt. Melikuziev catches him with a good one before the bell.

Round 3: Melikuziev opens with a body shot. Dibombe lands a right just before a clinch. Melikuziev steps into a right from Dibombe again. Pressure from Melikuziev, but he’s wary of Dibombe’s power. Melikuziev probing with punches from distance to open Dibombe’s defense. Winging counter left by Melikuziev. Dibombe gets Melikuziev to bob into a left hand. Melikuziev starting to get in and out with his attacks. It looks like he’s getting a read on Dibombe.

Round 4: Melikuziev catches an advancing Dibombe with right hands. All offense from Melikuziev early here. Dibombe gets his attention with a hard right. Short combo from Dibombe in close. Both fighters let their power punches fly and Dibombe goes to the mat on a slip. Melikuziev playing the distance game just right, keeping Dibombe in range to connect while avoiding that power hand.

Round 5: Melikuziev staying springy. Both fighters have cuts on their heads now from accidental clashes. There’s a 1-2 by Melikuziev, Dibombe goes down. That looked like he got tripped by Melikuziev’s foot, but referee issues a standing eight-count, so count that as a knockdown. The bout briefly continues before being stopped again to check out the cuts on both fighters. Melikuziev’s is right on his eyebrow. But we go on! They immediately trade power punches. Both fighters want to end this before a cut does. Another slip for Dibombe. This has been a messy fight. Right hand on the ear and Dibombe goes to a knee, but referee says Melikuziev pushed him down and he gives Melikuziev a warning. Melikuziev bullying Dibombe, but Dibombe answers with a left. More sloppy punches thrown.

Round 6: Melikuziev right back to bullying, but he’s cautious as Dibombe answers with quick hands. Dibombe slips again. Sigh. Big punches from Melikuziev are blocked as Dibombe works off of the ropes. Right connects for Dibombe. Melikuziev pushing forward, mixing in body punches.

Round 7: Grinding in-close exchanges in the middle of the ring. When they separate, it’s all Melikuziev… and just as I write that, Dibombe clips him with a right. It’s not pretty, but Dibombe is landing with power. Melikuziev counters and he hurts Dibombe with one to the body. Dibombe has his back to the corner as he shells up and tries to recover. Glancing right by Dibombe. Melikuziev targeting that body now. He leaves his head up and Dibombe just tags him.

Round 8: Whoa, they take another look at the cut on Melikuziev’s eye and they are stopping the fight. The good news is enough rounds have passed for the judges to render a decision.
Hard to blame the doctors for that call, Melikuziev’s looked nasty and was getting worse.
Because the round started, the judges had to score it, 10-10s across the board.

Arnold Barboza Jr. vs. Sean McComb
Round 1: Another southpaw-orthodox matchup here, let’s hope we don’t get any more headbutts. Both fighters setting up the jab. McComb taps Barboza with a long right. McComb testing Barboza’s defenses with a string of punches. Barboza tries to change the temp with a few body shots. A right hand gets through for Barboza. McComb right back to keeping Barboza at bay with those long arms.

Round 2: Good movement from McComb as he circles out of the corner and tags Barboza a few times. Barboza sticking with a body attack. Accurate combos from McComb, he’s picking Barboza apart from midrange. Barboza’s body shots could add up, but right now McComb is ahead on the scoreboard. Barboza works to cut off the ring.
