Conor McGregor brands receive mass exodus from over 1,000 stores

Conor McGregor has his name linked with many big-name brands across the world, but each of them are being removed from stores.

‘The Notorious’ will likely forever be one of the most loved stars in the sport—while also being one of the most hated—but recent news has stained his popularity. After going to civil court, the Irishman is considered liable for the sexual assault of Nikita Hand dating back to 2018.

This piece of news shook the world, and the domino effect is beginning to take shape. Firstly, his partnership with Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey was forcedly stopped when stores refused to stock it on their shelves following the verdict in his lawsuit.

Now, over 1,000 stores across Ireland have confirmed that they will no longer sell products linked to Conor McGregor. Supermarket juggernaut Tesco led the way, refusing to sell McGregor’s whiskey in the UK and Ireland, with many more stores set to follow in their footsteps.

Supervalu, Costcutter, and Carry Out off licenses are just some of the businesses no longer selling McGregor’s products to customers.

Others looking to remove the Irish whiskey from their shelves are Spar, Londis, Mace, and EUROSPAR.

This comes just days after it was confirmed that the owners of Proper No. 12 will no longer be using McGregor’s name or likeness to promote their product.

Another growing brand under McGregor’s name is his Forged Irish Stout, which is also set to be removed from several outlets.

It seems more and more brands linked to the Dublin native are being boycotted by retailers in the wake of his case.

Despite pleading innocence, Conor McGregor’s business empire has been hit hard—and it’s likely just the beginning.

Alongside his products being shunned, McGregor was removed from the Hitman video game in which he made a cameo as ‘The Disrupter’.
