Former women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso returns to the octagon on March 28 in a rematch against No. 5 ranked Maycee Barber. The news was first reported by Krazy Kev MMA on Wednesday evening.

Grasso (16-5-1) was scheduled to face former two-time women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas on Jan. 24 at UFC 324 but was forced out of the fight due to injury. She’ll enter the rematch coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in her 13-year mixed martial arts career.

Barber (15-2) spent most of 2025 determining what went wrong moments before she was expected to make her walk to the octagon against Erin Blanchfield at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31. Barber suffered what appeared to be a seizure preparing to make her way to the cage and the bout was cancelled.

After diagnosis and treatment, Barber returned in December at UFC 323, defeating Karine Silva via unanimous decision. In recent interviews, “The Future” called out Grasso for a rematch. She ended up getting what she wanted.

The two first fought in February 2021 at UFC 258: Usman vs. Burns. Grasso defeated Barber via unanimous decision that night in Las Vegas. It was the last time Barber lost a fight.
