Jon Jones taps into Dana White’s longevity guru

Jon Jones has been among the best fighters in the world for over a decade and is still considered at the pinnacle despite being 37 years old. But, what does he attribute his longevity to?

Unlike certain competitors who do everything by the book, ‘Bones’ doesn’t necessarily have the cleanest record outside the cage, and is no stranger to alcohol and bad decisions. Despite all of that, many consider him the greatest to ever compete in all combat sports.

According to the man himself, Jon Jones believes his spirit is the main reason he has managed to prolong his stay as the best in the world.

“I feel like the spirit that lives inside of me,” Jones said in regards to his longevity. “The spirit that lives inside of me and the faithfulness that lives inside of me keeps me young.”

“Age is just a number and I feel like, you know, the higher power that gives me strength, he tells me when I’m hurt. He tells me when I’m weak.”

“And as of right now, he hasn’t said any of those things to me. I believe I have a lot more fight inside of me, and that’s what keeps me young.”

Jones later insisted that he has begun working with Dana White‘s longevity expert.

“For the longest time, I didn’t even have a recovery protocol. Thank God I met Gary Brecka recently who’s been teaching me a lot of things…”

“Gary’s been helping me out so much with just having a way of taking care of myself. I would get massages like once a week and now I really kind of pamper myself at night before going to bed.”

“I feel like that’s added even more longevity to my career if I shall choose.”

“The most real answer I could think to give you is the spiritual [energy] that’s inside of me. It gives me great strength.”
