UFC featherweight Ricardo Ramos has a new date and opponent for his octagon return.

Initially set to face Zubaira Tukhugov at this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night show in Las Vegas before Tukhugov withdrew from the fight, Ramos will now fight Bill Algeo at UFC Vegas 24 on April 17, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting. MMAjunkie first reported the news.

Algeo (14-5) won a decision over Spike Carlyle in his most recent UFC appearance in November 2020, bouncing back from a debut loss to Ricardo Lamas three months prior.

The former Ring of Combat featherweight titleholder scored finishes in nine of his 13 pre-UFC wins.

Ramos (14-3) was riding a two-fight winning streak under the UFC banner over Journey Newson and Eduardo Garagorri before a stoppage defeat to Lerone Murphy on Fight Island in 2020, dropping his overall UFC record to 5-2.

UFC Vegas 24 takes place at the UFC APEX and features a middleweight showdown between former champion Robert Whittaker and one-time title contender Kelvin Gastelum in the main event.
