Terrance McKinney has his next assignment.

The 26-year-old prospect is expected to meet French lightweight Fares Ziam in a battle of up-and-comers at a UFC Fight Night event on November 20. MMA Fighting confirmed the matchup Tuesday night following an initial report by MMA DNA.

McKinney (11-3) needed just seven seconds to score the fastest knockout in UFC lightweight history in his octagon debut against Matt Frevola at UFC 263. A former LFA standout who has finished all 11 of his professional wins, McKinney memorably flattened Frevola with a lightning-quick combination before injuring his right knee while celebrating his handiwork.

Speaking to MMA Fighting afterward, McKinney joked of his thoughts about the injury: “I was like, ‘God dang it, I’m an idiot.’”

Next up he’ll face Ziam (12-3), a 24-year-old Frenchman who’s put together back-to-back decision wins over Jamie Mullarkey and Luigi Vendramini since losing his UFC debut against Don Madge in 2019.

The UFC’s event on November 20 is also expected to feature flyweights Joanne Calderwood vs. Alexa Grasso and strawweights Loma Lookboonmee vs. Cheyanne Buys. A main event for the card has yet to be announced.
